MEASLES INFORMATION

There has been a recently confirmed case of Measles in Meadville.  Unless your child has come in direct contact with the individual OR has been in the same place as the individual, there is a very low risk of contracting Measles.

If your child is over the age of 12 months and has followed our vaccine recommendations, your child has received one dose of the MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps and Rubella).  One dose of the vaccine is 93% effective in preventing Measles.

If your child is over the age of 4 and/or is in kindergarten and has received the second dose of MMR, the vaccine is 97% effective in preventing Measles.
